I have seen about 15+ posts from you. I think you should take some property management classes next time you are in the USA.
Property management is like any other service, you may have a great or bad professional that screw you but if you want their services and expertise you need to may a fee.
I can tell you that is a bad idea for you to try to manage 5 properties from overseas but you probably will ignore and try to same money. 6 months from things may be working beautifully or they may be a disaster, is hard to know, it will depend on what kind of tenants you have.
Every property need repair, it is a misconception that you will get a income property and just seat and collect rent. If you have a 1-5 years old house you probably will need less maintenance that 10-15 years old. If you did the repairs before renting that will help too.
Now, you never tell us about your properties and tenants and expect an answer. There is no right answer but chances is that you will expend even more money if you don't have a good system and local support from a friend is cases things turn ugly.
