The rental listing found on Trulia for 1765 Avenida Sevilla is most likely a scam. The listing came from Postlets.com and has already been removed from there and may disappear from Trulia shortly. The fake owner and address attempt to mimic the property owner, however, the name they use was actually the prior owner who short sold the property in October.
In any case the rent of $1200 was way too low and is a definite tip off that the ad is fake. The house is actually for sale(a flip) and not for rent. An offer was accepted as of today.... more
Trulia pulled the data from this Postlets listing: http://www.postlets.com/rtpb/9992300. Unfortunately, a lot of rental scams have been coming out of Postlets(which is a company owned by Zillow). Because listing on Postlets and Craigslist is free and anyone can do it, they seem to have the majority of scams. If you see a rental advertised on Realtor.com, it should be legitimate since it is data coming from an MLS. Unfortunately, most rentals do not end up in our MLS...not sure the reason for that, it's just the way it is. I always advertise my rentals in the MLS.
The tip off this listing was a scam, is because the price is so low. If it's too good to be true...... more
