If you can get past the absurdity of two opposing groups living in â€œGodâ€™s Square Mile at the Jersey Shoreâ€, seemingly annual fires that take two blocks of homes at a clip, a group of realtors that would sell their own motherâ€™s into slavery for dime, and a right wing neo-Christian organization (Ocean Grove Camp Association) financially dependent on monies raised by charging homeowners a land use fee, a fair share of whom are the very people they profess to hate; it is a wonderful place to live.

Hello, I live on the south side of Ocean Grove and we hardly ever have problems parking here. On the north side it's harder to park in the summer-sometimes people leave their cars on one space and walk around the rest of the weekend (such as 4th of July weekend). With so much going on in Asbury Park now, it's easy to shop, go to restaurants, and many other fun activities, both there and in Ocean Grove and Bradley Beach. Even during the blizzard in 2010 when we were snowed in we could walk to stores. There are also some houses in town with garages or driveways. Good luck in your search.... more
Without a doubt, the train is the way to go. You can take the Garden State Parkway to the NJ Turnpike and drive in, but the problem then becomes parking. It can be hard to find a spot, many of the streets are metered (1 hour parking max), and the garages are expensive. Takes about 50 min to drive in.
NJ Transit is fast, reliable and relaxing. It takes longer (about and hour, 20 min) but you don't have the hassle of parking... more
