Yours is a very good question, but one that is difficult for others to answer. To understand the positives and negatives of a school district, I suggest going to speak with the administration, teachers and or parents of the potential school your children would attend. Go to the school directly or go to a PTA meeting that is posted on the school's web site. Below are two sites that will help determine where your children will attend. That can be difficult to overcome because school districts can change feeder patterns - it happened to my children more than once. If a certain school is important to you, my suggestion is to contact the school district or school directly with your requests to find out if they have a static map of where their students live. Additionally, Delaware has a "Choice" program which allows students to apply to attend a school outside of the normal feeder pattern. This may require you to provide transportation for the child(ren) both ways to either the school or the closest bus stop to your home.
