It's not an active community but it's not a bad community most residence keep to themselves I've lived around here my whole life I never had any issues. It's different now than how it was in the past they tore down the old pinnacle and are building everything brand new and now are really judgmental torwards who they place in these rentals which I personally think is great. Asbestos shingles on the exterior of the house are usually quite safe, very enduring, and good insulators. As long as the shingles are painted/maintained, and remain intact/not extensively broken, the asbestos fibers are very densely compressed and pretty much encapsulated by the paint. Many owners will put vinyl siding right over the asbestos siding because of the extra insulation which provides another barrier to the asbestos fibers. Also, when removing these shingles they will also break and crack and that is when asbestos fiber gets released into the air. If for some reason you choose to remove asbestos shingles, you should wear a respirator/mask, and the shingles need to be properly disposed of...check your town building department for regulations on this.... more
There is approximately 7 months of inventory on the market in New Britain. If you price your house according to what other properties are listed at and recently sold for, you can expect to wait about 7 months. If you price it 2-3% below market value, you can expect a much faster sale.
This is very general - my anaylsis does not take into consideration desireablility of your neighborhood and price range. Some neighborhoods and price ranges move faster than others.... more
