First of course a good idea would be to narrow down your search to a particular area. A good buyer's agent can help you with finding a rental within a good school district. So when you decide on an area then focus interviewing some agents within that area to find the right one. Then of course start slow and lay out a good plan for relocating. We can all tout the benefits of our individual areas but, of course we do not know what your needs are or your particular wants.

Hope this helps

One good place to check schools is the NC Report Card site:

You can find out about scores and other details. It does help to visit the schools in person, too! Great Schools is another good site.

For home rental information in the Raleigh/Triangle area, you might check Block & Associates. They have one of the most comprehensive rental sites.

Welcome to North Carolina, and best of luck!

I like what you said: RENT.

This is something I did a long time ago. I called some places, such as Radio sales man, pzza delivery places and start asking questions regarding the city. Of course, I don't recommend you to call on pick days/hours but everysalesman like to talk. Maybe call companies you will be dealing with, if there a recepionist that is a good place to ask those questions. Also, look for internet radio and online newspapers.
