Rental Homes

Asked by Lauliza, 02067 Tue Aug 9, 2011

Is there any official way to tell if a home is owner occupied? Often the owner's name is in the listing so that may not always be reliable, is that correct? Or is the tenant's name the one usually listed?

Hi Moving,

Is there a reason you are looking to find out if a rental home is owner or tenant occupied? If it is to be rented it either is, or will soon be, tenant occupied.

But as general advice your town public records will usually show the owner's mailing address. If it matches the home you're looking at it is owner occupied. If not then it's either vacant or tenant occupied.

Hope that helps!
