Looking for a nice place aroun Malvern/Valley Forge, PA

Asked by Carlos Sanchez, Montclair, NJ Wed Feb 22, 2012

Hello,
We currently live in Montclair, NJ and we are looking for a place like this around Malvern, PA (New Job).
Montclair, NJ is a suburb mid-size town full of young and middle-age people, maybe parents in their 40's.The town is full of old and beautiful houses, some European style (Mostly German style) and Victorian houses as well. We have a wholefoods, international & vegetarian restaurants, local home-made bakeries, antique stores, art museum, and concert theater. Business-dressed people in bicycles going to the supermarket or to take the NY train. Montclair is a town with liberal and successful people (Usually working in NY).
My point is that I'm looking for something like this around Malvern. I'm willing to travel 30-35 min. I'm NOT looking for a place with Macmansions, big malls, or full of SUV's. We like places with local businesses where we where we can walk for a whole day.We are a couple with no kids in their late 20's willing to rent for 1 year for around 1300/month.
Thanks!

Hi Carlos

We like Phoenixviile. It is about a 20 min. commute to Malvern and is in the midst of a revitalization of the downtown area. It is a nice town with a lot of charm and a lot to offer.

Carlos,
Congratulations on the new job. Malvern is a great place, Malvern Boro itself is a fun place, but Berwyn Village, is full of Victorian homes with plenty of fun restaurants some bars, a theatre, etc, Wayne just a few minutes east of there also is known as a destination along the main line for dining, coffee, cinema etc. Other towns are Devon, assorted housing here a whole foods, we also have Wegmans Supermarkets in several locations nearby which people love. As for walking and enjoying yourself, check out this video of Jenkins Arboretum http://youtu.be/smCP_BcbyBs, here is one on Berwyn http://youtu.be/FB9AZcR1yrI, I have others on my website for Valley Forge National Park which is minutes away. I moved here 22 years ago and love the area because of the opportunities it offers for getting outside, for a village or small town feel all along the main line. Would love to help you find somewhere to live, feel free to reach out to me from my website, link is below.

Hi Carlos,
There are great places around here. I think you could feel yourself right at home in West Chester. Great feel there. Check out these listings in the web reference and let me know how I can help you.
There are many more areas that I could recommend just browse the listings for Wayne, Malvern, West Chester, Berwyn, Paoli.
Let me know how I can help.

Carlos,

There are so many different little towns within the "Main Line" area (up and down Lancaster Ave) that I think would be right up your alley. You would have access to train, so you travel into Philadelphia if you desire or you can walk to a local coffee shop or store. I work on the Main Line and know the area very well.

Please feel free to contact me for some listings.

Hi Carlos:

I am very familiar with Montclair NJ ~ I use to live in Nutley :) As for a town, I would say that West Chester would fit into what you are looking for. It is an adorable town with loads of small businesses and you could walk it. If you are not working with an agent, please give me a call and can help you find a rental.

Best,

Cat Mayo
