Welcome to Charlotte! I work with a lot of transplant and relocation clients and would love to help with your move. What lifestyle do you enjoy? Urban/city life? Rural/small town? Where will your job be located? There are so many great areas in and around Charlotte, I'd really need to know a little more about your needs in order to help. Southpark, Dilworth, Southend and Uptown are all great areas for young professionals!
Depending on where you want to live there are many options available to you for walking neighborhoods in the charlotte area. Uptown is full of apartments, condos and places for rent that are suited for the walker in mind. South park area is another popular area among professionals that is very walker friendly.
Charlotte has many greenways and other avenues for people as well; as a city strive daily to be more green. It really depends on what you are looking for in a walking community. Is it close to work? Shopping? restaurants? or all of the above. if all of the above then the South park and uptown are your two best options.
I would love to speak with you about your housing needs. You have indicated a desire to be in a walking community. I need to get a better idea of what your idea of a walking community may be. Some folks want to be near the Center City area and consider that to be their target with regard to a walking community; others simply want to be in a space where they can have walking access to shopping and restaurants. The Charlotte region has many options in both categories. We probably need to know where you will be working and plan a strategy for a rental after we know where your employment will take you.
If you would like to talk further about all of Charlotte's great communities, please feel free to contact me and we can work together toward a great solution. Welcome to Charlotte! You are going to love it here!
Blessings upon you...
