It all comes down to how your lease is worded. If you get your property manager to agree to something different than is written in your lease, be sure to get it in writing! If you're terminating because you've decided to purchase a home, often your buyer's agent can help negotiate an acceptable way out of your lease.

Daisy,

Most likely they will hold you to the contract.
Sometimes if you bring a person that will take over your lease they may release you from the contract.
Check with the property manager.

Good luck,
