Everyone's CORRECT on this one...The bottom line is that if you haven't met with the owners personally, DON'T wire anything! This sounds like a scam! If it doesn't feel right, it's probably NOT right.

Don't wire anybody anything. Period. Meet them at the house. Do not fall for a scam

The "red flags" are and should be there. Before providing any amount of money always request proof of ownership. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways but one of the easiest is to request copies of several bills with their identity: taxes, electric, gas, water, phone. These are common and regular and should be able to be easily produced.

In the event they resist or come up with may want to move on and explore other options.

Good luck,

That is the most popular SCAM right now:
Most of the absentee owners are using a Property Management company.
Be forewarned; many have fallen before you.

Good luck and may God bless
