How much do I have to pay in utilities?

I'm trying to get an idea of how much my utility bill would be in the Seattle area. I would like to find out how much money I have to pay for utilities such as trash, sewer, electric, gas and water. What is a monthly estimate? Or is there a good website to utilize?

Since we're being very generic right now, here's one house:

2000 sq ft house - $50/mo electric, $100/mo water/sewer/garbage, $50/mo gas heat. Your mileage may vary.

For the best closest answer ask the sellers to provide their expenses for those things. You may use more or less electricity. But overall a house eats what it eats for heat.

You could also ask your realtor for general ideas of the expected expenses. They may or may not have a clue.

Sandra,
I don't know of a website to estimate utility expenses. Your monthly utilities expenses can vary widely depending on your usage habits, the size of the house and the quality of the windows, insulation/weather stripping.

Seattle Public Utilities provides all the services except natural gas and heating oil. You can get some rates at the website provided. Puget Sound Energy is the main natural gas provider depending on where in the city you move to.
