Best place to live along west coast of Florida? Roughly Sarasota to Tampa area. Desired: entertainment (sports, theater), safe community, good schools

Asked by D&S1405, 81506 Tue Mar 6, 2012

Looking for a nice place for a young family along the west coast of Florida, possibly Sarasota/Bradenton area or Tampa area. Looking for good schools, safe community, things to do (shopping, restaurants, sports, theater, concerts) and close to beach (hour or less drive).

If schools are important then you may want to go with Westchase 33626 or Lutz or Palm Harbor.

What's your price range? That will determine your best options.

Also in Apollo Beach there is a Coal FIred Power Plant closeby so you may not want to risk your health!

Thanks for the tips! Our price range is in the low to mid $200s, seems to be a lot of great places for sale for low.

Congratulations on targeting one of the premier Florida locations. You can't go wrong by investigating options in this location: climate, recreation, culture, beaches, housing, quality of life, education etc. are all pluses that continually bring people into the region. We would encourage you to extend your search a little further south and include the Venice area.

As one would assume, this is still a buyers market and there are great home values in this area ....We would be happy to entertain any additional questions about the area, availability of real estate, the buying process, etc.

Best wishes with your are definitely in the right location.
