The Multiple Listing Service which an qualified agent can provide you with a list or rent.com, rentals.com, apartments.com, forrent.com, etc. Hope this helps.

Many renters don't realize that they're missing out on a lot of great opportunities by not contacting an agent as a key part of their home search. Not only do you get to see a lot of properties that you don't see elsewhere...when you work with an agent you get professional help finding a place to live, professional representation when you negotiate and sign, and its all free. The landlords pay the commissions. I do lots of rentals on the Westside of L.A., please don't hesitate to call if you need help finding a home and the best of luck.

Dear Vanessa,
The agents below summed it up...driving through the area(s) in which you'd like to live is always a great idea. Many Landlords do not even advertise their rental(s); the general thinking behind this is to secure a tenant who is already a part of the community. The other option is to get the help of an Agent...not wanting to sound redundant; they do have access to properties listed NO where else & it is at the expense of the Landlord; not you!
Best Regards ~ Victoria

Ocean Park is such a highly desirable area, that some properties never make it to any official listing services. Your best bet is going to be cruising the neighborhood and calling on the for lease signs.

FIRST ANSWER

good afternoon vanessa,

the two resources you mentioned are the most widely used for this area. depending on the size of the property or the rental amount, other resources could be the santa monica daily press; santa monica mirror; argonaut and possible http://www.themls.com guest site if its listed with a broker. there is also an apartment guild (again, depends on what you're looking for) in news stands throughout the neighborhood or online at http://www.ApartmentGuide.com. there are plenty of rentals out there so best of luck!

kindest regards,
