If you think your scores are being reported incorrectly, you should request a FREE copy of your credit report and review it. If you find errors you need to contact the credit reporting agency ASAP and have the items removed/or corrected.
Remember you will have three scores.

The guys in charge at the bank work a 9 to 5 like most everyone else. They are working on Hundreds of files so it can take quite a while for them to review the file. It is a major problem in our system put it is what it is, we are at the banks mercy no matter if the buyer has financing or not :(

Sure wouldn't hurt to upgrade. Just be careful about overbuilding in your particular neighborhood as it could be difficult to recoup your investment for several years.
Your lender should have sent you notice regarding the proposed auction of your property.
If for some strange reason they did not, you can contact a local realtor and provide them with the adress they will be able to check the tax record to see if an acution date has been scheduled.

Although this is an older thread, I thought it important to clear up any misinformation or wrong answers that so called experts posted. There are so many misconception regarding VA Loan it's mind boggling. Maybe the next person who looks up this topic, will not get shut down with incorrect information. First let's correct the record by going over the following:
Q: Can you I buy a home with a judgement i.e. IRS, State Tax Lien, or Child Support?
A: Yes, there are a number of make sense lenders out there that underwrite to FHA, VA or USDA guidelines. We will allow a borrower with these types of judgments (that would end up becoming lien)to purchase a home as long as the borrower provides an installment agreement or provides at least a 90 day payment history (some lenders require as much as 12 months). Better yet if the borrower is paying by way of a wage assignment or garnishment, we lenders will get the warm and fuzzies as we won't have to worry (too much) about the borrower skipping out and not paying, because they already are.
Q: Can the seller payoff my tax lien, child support lien, credit card, car loan, student loan etc?
A: Yes. I call this, "Payoff Debt for a VET". The VA allows a seller in a transaction to pay up to 4% of the sales price to payoff ANY debt in order to help a Veteran qualify for a home loan. FHA does not allows, but VA will. In addition to the 4% seller concession, the VA also allows the seller to pay up to 6% towards closing costs for a total of 10%.
In closing, it would be nice if Realtors or inexperienced Loan Officers would refrain from giving advise unless you yourself know what you are talking about.
