I think the best thing to do in this situation is to ask your neighbors and the people around you. They should know if they use cable or dish. There are a lot of different dish carriers and I think the best way to pick, someone is looking at their prices and to see if they have the channels that you want. http://www.a1satutah.com... more
I was born and raised in LHC. We have been suffering from this problem for decades. I am very saddened to here that in 2015 basically nothing seems to have changed as far as bringing in large industry. Our city was founded by Robert Mcculloch. He brought his chainsaw factory here to Lake Havasu from Los Angeles, California back in the 1960's. He believed that stroungly in this place that I am still proud to call my home, even though I live now in Phoenix, Arizona. We brought the Serelite corporation here back in the early 1990's I believe. Now when my wife and I by their product they say they are from back east. WHAT HAPPENED?. Industrial Blvd. was named by mister Mcculloch for this dream that he realized to come true for him did. Take a look at Industrial Blvd. now. I can tell you after living here in Phoenix for several years, they encourage big business & large corporations to come to this city, such as Amazon, Intel, Honeywel, just to name a few. Why can't we do that in Lake Havasu?. Home in Havasu is much nicer than here. We are a much better city than Phoenix, any day of the week. Our city is so much more desireable and attractive than Phoenix, Arizona. Come on and let's make a richer and better Lake Havasu City that we can ALL be proud to call our HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... more
Lake Havasu is certainly different. There are limited areas that have natural gas since we do not need much "heat" in our homes so most supplemental heat is electric/AC units in our homes. Solar is growing rapidly and we have some city offices, some commercial locations and more and more homes utilizing solar panels (PV systems) in their homes and businesses. Lake Havasu requires an engineering study and certification to put panels on roofs so that is an extra step required here vs other areas of AZ and other states.
good way to go but still in the minority. If I can be of any assistance to find a home let me know. We represent the #1 Energy Star builder in Western Arizona and with these new super tight and efficient homes, the energy costs are very efficient/reasonable as well.... more
Internet speeds are pretty good, 75 megs for a reasonable price (I think $50/month, depending on your other services). It has been very reliable since we have gotten it, and the only time we had an issue, Suddenlink came out right away and took care of it quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them.
We have the middle option available, it's $40/month for 35 megs, and to me, it flies! I play an MMO, and never have problems with it loading or taking too long.
If you are still interested in moving out here, I have a bit of knowledge. I just recently moved, May 2014, and found a job across the river at one of the casinos almost immediately. (I started June 3rd.) They always seem to be hiring. My boyfriend started a security job just recently, as well.
As for pet friendly, we stayed at the Pioneer for a few weeks. (I'd recommend River Palms, but they are closing for a little while for management change). Since it is summer, the hotel rates have gone up quite a bit, but they will probably be dropping soon, as summer season is almost over.
Then we bought a small trailer for $3,000 to save some money while looking for a bigger place to buy. The trailer is enough to get us by for some time.
Hi, i've lived in Golden Valley my entire life and i'm looking into a house myself. To answer your question, floods happen every year during monsoon season. It is unusual however for it to reach any housing up close enough to damage the homes. If you're concerned about this , then make sure you are not surrounded by dirt roads as floods tend to go across them, and it is extremely dangerous to attempt to drive through them. Stay closer to the high way, and check to see if the house is accessible during a flood. Watch out for the Sacramento wash, it is by far the biggest wash in the area and cuts clear through the south side splitting up and joining several smaller washes.... more
