Hi, my name is Dave Nelson and I am a realtor with M. Scott Properties. As far as snow goes I would say that is about the same, we both, Carson City and Minden, get about the same and wind is about the same also. The difference between the two would be that the Minden area is more agricultural and less traffic. There are a lot of bike riders in Douglas County and a lot of back roads that are great for bike riding. Property values in Minden tend to be a little higher and most people agree that Minden holds its value a little better in a down turn and Minden tends to rise a little sooner when a turn around arrives. For this reason you might get more house for your money in Carson City at this point as Minden has recovered a little more then Carson City.
Even though my office is in Minden and I obviously love my life in Douglas County, I also sell a lot of homes in Carson City. I have a lot of friends in Carson City and they love their life there also. I would love to help you find that perfect home for you in either area. I am here to serve you. I can be reached at (775) 690-2979 or email at Dave@DaveNelsonRealtor.com.
Thanks for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.... more

We were taught basic snake recognition and safety, stay out of mine shafts, don't pick up scorpions, only saw one tarantula, coyotes are shy. Never hike alone, always tell an adult where you are going, and be back before dark. As I look at the map, I am astounded at the growth! Looks so developed! Of course, 40 years ago was such a long time! I had a storybook childhood, my friends homes were all connected with a spiderweb of trails which we rode daily.... more
