Your Realtor needs to speak with the FNMA Realtor and find out what is going on. FNMA can take a long time to respond. Did you get a verbal acceptance? If so, you should be progressing with the deal. Have you spoken with their closing agent? If you have not gotten a verbal acceptance, you need to have your Realtor check to see if someone else got the house.... more
I agree with the other agents, 1 or 2 k and a second larger deposit once the contract is approuved by the bank. You should not lose your money as long as you do everything on time as by contract.
Do you know that somtimes it takes month before the banks get back to you?
