Hi David,
I just noticed that your question was dated back in February so hopefully you have sold your home by now. If not, I wanted to throw my two cents in. First of all, February is a very tough time to sell property in Jackson and Transylvania County. From December until around May, it is very slow here in the mountains. Things really happen around here between Memorial Day and until the end of leaf season. All that being said, I hate to disagree with a fellow Realtor, but the market is off considerably in certain areas of WNC including Jackson County. Transylvania County is down about 50% in sales and Jackson Co. is about the same. A lot of this downturn can be attributed to what has happened in Florida and other feeder states. Combine that with uncertainty in the economy and an upcoming election and you get the perfect storm.
On the other side of this coin, however, is the tremendous opportunities that are out there for buyers. It's a great time to be buying because of the increased inventory and sellers who are anxious to sell. If I can help you in any way, please let me know. We are based in Brevard. 828-551-6290.
