My three children all went through the Westfield Public Schools (one is currently at the high school),
so my experience with the schools spans 15+ years. A single High School serves the entire town,
as does the new Lincoln School (for pre-K, K). They work hard to ensure that the curriculum is
the same at all 6 Elementary Schools, likewise, between the 2 Intermediate Schools. Westfield's test scores (across all the schools) always compare favorably to the state averages. While one school or another may show small differences in any given year, I don't believe there any statistical significance to the differences. Across all the schools, they've managed to keep the class sizes small. I'd suggest you contact the Board of Ed for additional information, or, perhaps contact McKinley's pricipal -- she is outstanding -- she was previously an elementary teacher at Jefferson -- she is truly top-notch.

I'd be happy to assist you in your home search -- as a 25-year resident of Westfield, I know the community and the schools well and can help you to compare the various homes available in your price range.

Westfield is a geat place to live! That said, I've found that people whose children go to McKinley will tell you it's the best ... ditto for people whose chldren go to Tamaques, or Jefferson, or Franklin etc. Parents in Westfield tend to be very involved in their children's education.

The McKinley area of town, like most of Westfield, has some lovely homes and great neighborhoods. And the people are very neighborly.

If you're asking about the schools, contact me on and I'll send you a link to the best schools-ranking website I've found, along with login instructions for getting the most from the site.

If you want to see what has sold, in what neighborhoods and at what price in Westfield and surrouding areas, go to and click on Westfield Homes Sold -- likewise if you want to find out what's for sale in the various price ranges.

Westfield is my specialty, so feel free to reach out to me on my cell at 732-423-2792 if you have more questions.

Hoipe this was helpful.

Hi Munira,
I don't know it you have bought already but just saw this and had to put in my 2 cents. I grew up in Westfield and when I wanted to come back and raise a family I bought a house in the McKinley school district. It was 20 years ago and my kids have since graduated and gone to college and are now working and sucessful in their own right. I loved Mckinley. The best thing about it was the kids felt like they were with family. They new everyone on a first name bases. I really felt liked they cared. I feel that it gave my kids the perfect bases for a happy and fullfilling educational expirence. They are still friends with alot of the kids they meet there. In fact my daughter just got married and 4 of them where in her wedding.
Good luck in your search. I still live in the area.

Hi Munira,
I see that you already have quite a few responses to your McKinley question. I'll add one more. McKinley just recently celebrated their 100 year birthday, I was there, they had a wonderful parade through town with children, graduates, teachers, parents and staff. I have 3 children; all went to McKinley School and then through Edison and WHS. I am a past president of the PTSO of Edison School, so I am very familiar with the Westfield School System. My children are all very successful, 1 is in Medical School, 1 getting a masters degree after graduating cum laude and one a Sophomore at Penn State. The Westfield School system is a great one and all of the schools are excellent.
I have been a full time Realtor in this area for over 20 years and know the town of Westfield inside and out. I would be happy to help you with your search and answer all of your questions.

best of luck with your home search, I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcom to Westfield! All of the elementary schools in Westfield are excellent, as are the middle schools and the high school. My children attended Franklin elementary and met students from the other Westfield schools through the town sports and other community events. One of the advantages of the McKinley school district is that it is a short distance to Westfield High School. Wherever you choose in Westfield to live , you'll be pleased with the tremendous sense of community spirit, great schools, and the vibrant downtown area. Happy house hunting!

If you'd like to get a feel for the community spirit in Westfield, I invite you to come out
this evening (Sunday, Nov. 29) to the Holiday Tree Lighting. This annual event kicks
off at 5pm tonight with the Westfield Community Band playing holiday favorites. It leads
up to the tree lighting and the arrival of Santa (via fire truck!). The event is held
on North Avenue, near the train station (parking is available at the South Avenue side
of the train station. It's a great way to get a feel for the town and is a good example
of the many events held downtown each year.

Hi Munira, Westfield has all excellent elementary schools. Each one is unique due to the teachers, parents, students and principal. McKinley scored very well in there scores this year.
I am a parent, realtor and resident of Westfield and my three children all went through the Westfield schools. I was also PTO President of all levels of the school system.
Living in Westfield is a very good choice and wherever you decide to buy, you will be happy.

Hi Munira,
The area of Westfield that is districted to the McGinley school system is a lovely section of Westfield. There really isn't a section that's less desirable in my opinion, but I am also biased because I live here. If you are in need of a realtor, I'd be happy to work for you. You may visit my website at or call me.
