Hi Heidi - I recently did a lot of research for my own children and chose Anasazi elementary school. North Scottsdale has a number of very good choices of public, private and charter schools. Let me know if there are specific needs you are trying to meet and I'll do my best to help. :)

Cochise Elementary is outstanding. I'm a bit biased as I have 2 kids that go there, but the curriculum & education is excellent, The teachers are outstanding and there is a real sense of community with this school. They have open enrollment, so you do not have to live within the boundaries.

If I can answer any other questions about this school, please let me know.

Best regards & Good luck!

Have you looked up the school's standardized test results yet?

I believe the home you are looking at is served by Pima elementary, which is a very highly rated public school. Keep in mind that you may have the option to choose other public, private and charter schools if the area school does not meet your needs. One advantage of attending the neighborhood school is you will have bus service and the other children in your neighborhood will be attending the same school. Scottsdale public schools are generally well rated.

There are several elementary schools that are great such as: Grayhawk, Pinnacle Peak, Cochise, Anasazi and Sonoran Sky.

These are all public schools that I've had various clients talk about. It's probably going to be best if you conduct your own due diligence and interview each school in the location you plan on being in.

Hope those schools give you a starting point :)

That depends on your children's needs and wants. If you're new to Arizona, you won't believe the choices that you have! It's a very cool thing... This link should help.

I trust that this will get you started (plus, ALWAYS go interview the school administrators just before lunch break then you can watch the dynamics on the "fields of play")

Have fun school shopping!!!

Cathie posted a great link below. I've referred to that site many times. Also, if you have a chance, ask parents, do online searches re the schools gather as much info as possible to help you make the decision.
