This home is in the AE Flood zone which does require flood insurance if you are obtaining a mortgage. You can check the flood zone of any property by going to http://www.floodsmart.gov. Just type in the address of the property and it will give you the flood zone and insurance companies to contact for rates.

Flood protection is not the most costly component of homeowner's insurance. It is wind insurance.

It is in an AE flood zone which means it could flood once in 100 years. Depending on the elevation of the property, flood insurance may not be required by a lender. No lender...no flood insurance requirement.
