In 2007 prices were relatively stable, but in 2008 prices are in the process of declining.
Check out this link that shows the prices did actually go up over the last quarter.

You can also check quarter appreciation statistics (statewide) at http://www.ofheo.gov. The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) reports quarterly on the nations housing.

Susan is correct in saying that prices have not declined in Malibu. Prices have, and will most likely continue, to go upwards. Malibu is a scarce resource with high demand from the entertainment industry.

Prices did not decline in 2007. They actually increased overall in Malibu in 2007. The bulk of the increase was due to many high end sales on the beach. The number of sales decreased but not the prices. I have been selling here for 18 years if I can help you.
