Dave - Home prices sales will be relative to the area of Aurora in which you are selling. The 60505 zip code has taken a heavy hit with the number of foreclosures in the area, but, other zip codes within the city has sustained well. Regardless, you are better narrowing your locality and referring to a Realtor for more detailed information. Hope this helps!
Market Value in Aurora Proper and the surrounding are are actually escalating, however the properties are not moving as fast as they were, Jennifer is correct that the Kane Kendall Grundy areas are still building.
Kane I believe actually did not go negative, home sales went down, but the sales values actually went up 2+% percent, Chicago up 6%+. This is directly related to the area continuing to build in a " Down Market" there arent as many going up, but they are selling. New Home sales and added value by the builders are the key factor in growth, Existing home sales are slightly lower.

Are you looking at single family, townhomes or condos? Is there a certain area of Aurora you are looking in-West side or East side-or a particular subdivision? I have seen market times rise but I have also been getting lots of emails & phone calls from the buyers who are ready to commit in '08. The Beacon just had an article that came out yesterday that could be very helpful to you-
