The easiest way to find the assessed value of a home is to go out the city of Madison assessor website. You can plug in street addresses by a range. You can also get the latest sales data. However, this does necessarily give you a complete picture on the area. If you are a serious buyer I would suggest you do your research well and connect with a professional realtor. The demographics of areas will effect the value of a property. It is critical that you view many applications before making a decision. Also, if you are considering a lake property, the location on the lake and the water levels in front of that home are very important. There are areas on the lake that are very shallow and basically only doable with a canoe.....no owner is going to tell you that.

The key is for the property to be either listed on the MLS for the sale price or on the City of Madison Assessor's site. Currently, AccessDane doesn't provide sale prices.
Further research can be done in person.
