Why are there so many homes for sale in neighborhoods like Lookout Ridge III in Washougal, Wa?

My husband and I notice in driving through parts of Washougal -like Lookout Ridge III that there what appears to be an abnormally high number of homes for sale. On some streets it's not unusual to see 6 or 7 for sale signs. Is this area over built or is there some other reason there are so many homes for sale here?

Hi Diana:

Better late than never. There is a simple answer. More supply than demand! There are more builder/sellers than qualified buyers! The Lookout Ridge III development has too many new homes and too many empty lots available for sale. The housing market in the $400,000 to $600,000 price range is currently very slow. If you are looking for a more established neighborhood in a similar price range, look nearby in Granite Highlands.

Hi Diana,
There are many reasons why with no specific answers. However, if people will price their homes
aggressively and de-clutter and spruce them up then the liklihood of selling is much greater.
