One recipe of success other bedroom communities in Southern California have followed is to give residents a reason to stay in the city when shopping, dining, or finding entertainment. A vibrant "Main Street" would be a great start.

But I think the answer will vary depending the buyer.
A family with small children, seniors, single professional ad investors will all want different perks in a city.
With the low inventory we are seeing, I find it hard to believe that any So Cal city is having a hard time attracting buyers.

A great example is my area of Culver City and the wonderful job the Redevelopment agency did with it. Removal of blight, incentives toward new and exciting businesses, collaboration with innovative developers and Architects have made Culver City an exciting area for buyers!
