San Francisco is poised for a large wave of new construction. First is SOMA & Mission Bay, then look for Hunters Point and Treasure Island both deactivated miitary bases. The areas around the SFHA projects in Hunters View and Sunnydale, if HOPE SF bonds pass, will be rebuilt with mixed use developments. The whole area is a redevelopment area and there are going to be new communities built there in the next 5 to 10 years. The south eastern section of the city is where the next wave of growth will be.

New consturction has already started in areas like Mission Bay and and the South of market. The southeast part of the city is poised for the most growth in the next 5-10 years. The largest area of San Francisco for potential growth is the Hunters Point Shipyard redevelopment area. This area is 800 acres of land that Lennar Corp and the Sf Redevelopment agency will develop in the next 20 or more years.

South of Market...water front....Potrero. Those are your best bets. Socketsite provides a lot of information on new construction...you might want to check it out. The link is below.

San Francisco is pretty much built out unless you are near the water front and south of market.
