Kath, you will not find a luxury apartment complex though there are very nice options. If you are looking for luxury condo project there is a nice project right down town hood river.

I am Portland Guy but have become a big fan of the Dalles. Google just moved there and the city is redoing a 7 mile waterfront trail and some cool stuff too! Great area to bas eout of if you want to explore the mountains and eastern oregon and wahsington.

I like Lone Pine Condos. What I think you can do is go to http://www.Gorgre.net and or go to craigslist for portland oregon area and key word serach that area for rentals. They do not have a lot of noce rental projects but the Lonepine project is one for sure.
