If you are referring to Trulia's "Estimate" - that is something that only they can control and their estimates (like Zillow's) are known to often be very inaccurate. However, once the tax records are updated to reflect the recent sale of this unit - that information should be displayed in the "Price History" section for this unit.

I agree, the info always seems to be a bit behind and/or inaccurate. It really shows the that while technology can be convenient and fun to use, the need for a professional opinion is valuable to the tune of thousands of dollars on your investment. Use all of this as a guiding tool but rely on a professional to give an opinion on value.

Good advice, Cathy. A lot of times the consumer believe that we somehow control the data on the Trulia "Estimate" section or the Zillow "Zestimate." To our frustration, we don't. Sellers should be aware that those estimates of value can actually be hundreds of thousands off. My favorite story is about a house I listed and sold in Riverside during the market highs in the mid-2000s. Zillow said it was worth approx. 325,000. It sold for 925,000. Zillow ignored that it was a gut rehab of a property that had been dilapidated! Zillow never saw the property.
