We had an agent decline to list our home for sale stating that Newton County was the slowest market in the metro area. We're just looking for other opinions on this from agents who are familiar with the area. The area we live in has new subdivisions and businesses going up everywhere, so we find his claim hard to believe.

The Newton County area is bombarded with REO's and foreclosures right now. Dale is correct in stating that you will need to make sure you have your home priced right for it to sell. Also, making sure that you have "updated" your home on the inside with new paint, new carpet (or steam cleaning), making sure the exterior is painted and the landscaping will encourage the Home Buyer to consider your home over one that has holes in the walls and the carpet is filthy. Walk through your home and look at it with the eyes of a Buyer, does it pass your criteria for a "new" home?

Homes continue to be listed and sold in Newton County. I do not believe it is the slowest. What is important is that your home is priced competitively from the beginning.
