Cmm, Home Buyer in Fort Worth, TX

Is the Fairmont District of Fort Worth a safe place to raise a family? What are the schools and parks like?

Asked by Cmm, Fort Worth, TX Sun Jan 16, 2011

We are relocating to Ft Worth and would like to live close to downtown without sacrificing our safety and children's education.

If you like historical homes, this area would be a wonderful choice for you. Many investors/builders are buying homes that require TLC, rehabbing them, and re-selling for a generous profit in this area. It is rich in culture and there are some beautiful homes in the area. There are 2 homes in particular (on Fairmountm, and Hurley) that are really great and I'd love to send you more information on them. Several of my colleagues have given you great advice on where to search for school information. As far as crime, you can check out the Fort Worth Police Department web site. It has a great tool where you can actually search a specific address or area and see how many crimes and what types of crimes were committed in a specific time period. The link is; Hope this helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at Thanks!!!

These questions are tough for an agent to answer.
On crime the best thing to do is stop a police officer in the area and ask.
Better yet call the station and ask for the CRO for that neighborhood to call you back and discuss with them.
It is an urban location with all that entails.
On schools you can check out the TEA website for school rankings. Another great resources is
You might also go to one of the HOA meetings and talk with residents to get a better feel.
Not all of these homes are in Fairmount, but a good number will be....just click on the link below.…

I have lived in Fairmount for almost 6 years now, have two children (3 and 5) and my family loves the area. Fairmount residents overall, are watching out for one another and this great neighborhood. I think you're family is just as safe in Fairmount, than in any other neighborhood. NOW... we're moving... but solely for job relocation.....WANNA BUY A HOUSE IN FAIRMOUNT? 1924 Craftsman! Beautiful!

How close to downtown do you need to be? 15-20 minutes away opens up several properties
that are in good areas and school districts as well as Fairmont.

Ridglea North, Ridgmar, Arlington Heights, Monticello, and several other areas would be a better choice. The schools are much better unless you are thinking of private schools. Pro's and Con's for that as well.
I would be happy to send you information on both. I would need a little more information to direct you to areas for you to consider. There are a lot of factors that enter into finding the right place for your family and it's very difficult for you to get the best information from an email or on here.
Please don't hesitate to give me a call.

Are you searching to purchase or lease? I am assuming buy.

Are you qualified for a loan? That amount will govern the areas for your search by a Realtor
