Is renting a home in hopes the value increases to eventually sell for more profit a "good" idea?

We want to move to a county that has less foreclosures, causing homes to hold value and our house value has fallen due to local foreclosures. I don't feel we will get enough to put down, save some cash and have a nice home as we do now.

I am confused - do you mean renting the home you currently own. Yes, that has its advantages, IF you can hold it for several years and you can manage it and the woes that often come with being a landlord.

You should note that Prince WIlliam Co is considered a stablizing market. This issue may not be long term. I don't work in Dumfries, but have friends that do - if you need a referral, please let me know.
