Vp72, Home Buyer in Queens, NY

I was in contract to purchase this home. It needs about $15,000 of repairs, including windows, sewage piping, roof, and structural beam.

Hi Vp, If a home was listed for a certain price based on its condition- it is what it is. You obviously new it needed windows and most likely a roof. After an inspection you probably found out about sewage piping (expensive) and structural beam for re supporting. See if the owner can split the cost with you or look for a newer house. For a 2 family it seems like a great price. Get some comparable sales from your agent. That's my opinion. Terry K

What was the outcome? Did you cancel or attempt to working out some arrangement to compensate for the repairs?

It appears that the property was off the market for some time and it appears to have been re-done...

MLS is showing otherwise, did you try to negotiate the repairs...

No, this was two months ago. Just an FYI for the buyers out there.
