Leavenworth is an interesting market. It has indeed slowed from past euphoric buyer activity. It was a long, slow nearly imperceptible slide. The historic characteristic of this market is that most sellers are pretty strong financially. In spite of the lack of activity sellers are slow to adjust prices downward. There have not been a lot of sales to refer to but the market has surprisingly shown a small uptick in sale prices, but I wouldn't be too expectant of that being the trend. steve@johnsrealestate.net

Derek- Here is the latest update on the Leavenworth real estate market. Things have really slowed down since a year ago and prices have started to flatten. The general unease about the national economy is starting to have its affects here in Leavenworth.

(On a side note - I do have a buyer looking for a home on Lake Wenatchee. There really isn't much to choose from on the lake this summer.)

Derek- Leavenworth has actually been doing stronger this year (2008) than Wenatchee which has cooled down from their very hot 2007. We are mostly a vacation home market and less effected by problems in the mortgage market.

Even in the Leavenworth area, real estate can be very different in distinct locales. Kahler Glen condos are in demand as is Lake Wenatchee waterfront while new construction condos in Leavenworth are pretty slow.
