If you're "just looking" for a house value, there are several sites that estimate that for free. But how accurate are they?

Came across this great article with tips on figuring out how much your house is worth. Hope it helps. Have a great holiday.

Prasad,

There are several alternatives:

1. have an appraisal done---at a fee of between $300 & $400.

2. use a website like http://www.zillow.com---not considered reliable

3. request a real estate professional to do a FREE comparative market analysis

Prasad, You might find this interesting and informative.

This link will take you to the Federal Housing Finance Agency website. They have a calculator you can use where you enter what you paid for the house, when, and where, it will give you their opinion of what your house is worth. Plus it's a great information site....http://www.fhfa.gov/

Good luck, Dunes

Hello Prasad,

I'm a local agent, my office is in Exton. If you haven't got the information you needed yet, I'm happy to help also. Just send me an email with your mailing address, and I'll prepare a comparative market analysis (CMA) via email or postal mail at no cost or obligation. This will give a good sense of the market value. But as the other agents have eluded to, based on the purpose the appraised value could swing in either direction (i.e., higher or lower) depending on the circumstances.

I'm also available to answer any questions you may have, feel free to contact me any time: tameka@PruFoxRoach.com or 484-875-2595.

All the best,
-Tameka

To answer that question I would have to know the "To Whom" of how much your home is worth. The Market always ultimately determines Fair Market Value and appraisers will value differently as well depending on what the appraisal is for, i.e. refinancing, HELOC, Second Mortgage, Sale of Home, etc. Especially in your case an open forum is not the place for the questions that need to be asked and answered. What you need is an agent that will meet with you, ask you the tough questions and give you the truth for your particular situation. Call me at 215-896-2975 or email me at knhav@comcast.net to set up a time we can meet to discuss.

Contact a real estate professional and ask them to do a free CMA(comparative market analysis. Or you can have an appraisal done for about $350.00.

A Realtor can provide you with an opinion on market value, usually at no cost. An appraiser, depending on your reason for price opinion, i.e. refi, purchase, etc., will charge you for appraisal.
