Interesting a Blacksburg realtor responded to the Roanoke market?? Depending on price, the market here is pretty down and I've seen homes sell around 3-6 months if conditions of price and value are met. Some say people are asking too much causing slow results. On the other hand, I know of realtors telling people to just "hold-on" because a big reversal to the downward trend is coming. These people won't be in real estate next year because their reputation will be gone...huh Beth.

We are seeing an average of 89 days. However, there are homes that are priced just right and sell within the first 30 days. Others linger because they started high and before the price get lowered to where they need to be other properties have come on that are better priced to compete. The higher priced property has now become somewhat stale. The public perception is that there must be something wrong or negative and that is harmful to the marketing process. The new properties are fresh on the market and appear better which helps to move them faster. I hope that answers your question.
