How is the townhouse rental market in Catonsville/Ellicott City?

I am moving and thinking of renting my townhouse in Oella in stead of selling.
Trying to find out if the local market is good for rentals and how much average monthly rent is for the area.
thx

The rental market is getting stronger every day in the EC/Catonsville area. The rental prices didn't go up from 2000-2006, but now they are rapidly rising as sales prices are adjusting down. However, the cash flow isn't great compared to many other markets.

I own about 10 homes myself that I rent out (most are town homes or condos in Ellicott City), so if you need any tips, let me know.

Rentals for town homes can vary from $1,300-$3,000 per month, depending on age, condition and size.

Hi John

I live in Catonsville and sell here as well, I just rented townhome in the Academy Heights area for $1475. I would say that the market is good at least from my experience. I also know that rentals in Oella that are nice are hard to come by, especially if they are 2-3 bedrooms. In Oella depending on size I have seen rentals from $1000 - $1400 again it really depends on location and amentities.
Good luck
Melissa

In the 21043, there are currently 7 active listings for townhomes between $1600-$2300 per month. I would need a specific address to find more accurate comps. Please contact me at ldevnew@cbmove.com if you would like more detailed information.
