I'm curious, why would you want to hire an appraiser? When you buy a house your lender will choose the appraiser, not you. I know sellers who have had their home appraised prior to putting it on the market, thinking they appraisal would signify the worth of the home. The appraisal tells "worth", but true worth is what someone will pay for your home, not what the appraiser says. These people are often disappointed when they don't receive appraised value.
