okay my sound was really faulty the other day - but he did advocate looking at 100 homes. As a recent home buyer - I would not have had the stamina - nor would I advocate my buyers to do this. The parameters are way too broad.

Once location has been determined (which should really be one of the first criteria to be filled) the selection gets rounded down quickly. And advocating a 20% discount on a sellers asking price is in my estimation - irresponsible.

Sorry if this doesn't jive with your thoughts - but IMHO - I was not impressed.

I missed the segment & have been trying to view it on-line. I just keep getting old videos. Do you have a link? I am intrigued by Patsy's answer & would like to hear his sage advice. I watched on video where he advocated looking at 100 homes.... was I hearing things?

As always, Clark Howard provides exceptional advise. Home ownership is an American Dream and is possible!
It is a Buyer's Market with many great homes available. Buyers should analyze their financial situation, pay down debts, save for a down payment - get advise on ways to improve their Credit Scores (see myFICO.com Get a Loan). Talk to a Realtor for mortgage loan referrals-get qualified before you start previewing so you know up-front how much home you can comfortablly afford.
Seller's should make their home shine-the polished apple in the bunch! Curb appeal, staging - fresh paint, declutter, open up the room space (throw away or put in storage), look at your home in the eyes of a Buyer. Work with a Realtor for advice on staging and to price your home to sell in today's market!
