Having trouble accessing housing information in our area.

Peggy Durban
Home Seller
Claymont North

We are selling our house for sale by owner and are having trouble accessing market information and comps because it is not public information in our area (38672). Is there a reliable service that we can buy this information from without contacting a realtor. Also we have several foreclosures in our neighborhood. Should these comps be excluded when evaluating our home?
Thanks...

Peggy - you could hire an appraiser to do an appriasal. They have access to sold comps. As far as excluding foreclosures, that depends. If foreclosure sales dominate the market in your neighborhood, it will be a factor in the market value of your home.
