I know this answer won't be allowed to be posted, or won't be allowed to stay posted. We can't have negative statements made about the housing market, it may cause a panic. Never-the-less, it is a great time to buy in bozeman, as long as you offer about $100,000 less on the property as is being asked. There are literally no sales in Bozeman going through because the asking prices are still far from realistic. There are some brand new constructed homes prices as low as $75/sq ft. and these homes still don't sell. Other people are trying to pon off a 20 year old house at 2005 prices in hopes of cashing in. Home prices won't stablize until people realize that they can't get rich and retire off the selling of their home. So yes it is a good time to buy in Bozeman, just don't look at the sticker price to make your offer, instead, go down to the city municipal building and look up the mortage of the person who currently ownes the property and make your offer from that.
