What happens if the statute runs? (applies to the ans. to my first question.) Does the county appraiser have to come and appraise each house asking for a devaluation? If so, isn't that quite expensive and time consuming? Also, I was told at the Assessor's Office that they won't even begin going through the devaluation forms until January! Then, the Manager's Office said that appeals will take up to 9 mos to happen! So, the Appraiser's Office wants us to pay first and get the devaluation later, but from what I heard there will be NO REFUND; they will just apply any overpayment to the next bill! By then the NEXT bill will be due and we will again have to pay the regular amount and wait for the devaluation to come through and have that amount applied to the NEXT bill! Okay, so that actually means NO real break for 2009! Then, if we have to reapply each year, it all starts all over again! By that time, the property values will go back up! Is this devaluation just an exercise in futility?
