I should also add for longer cyclical history you might find that on California Association of Realtors site; in terms of property values I'm just looking at the last 3 months to analyze comparable sales to determine fair market value. San Francisco Association of Realtors has published reports of historical data -- zip me an email at melanie@condocontessa.com and I will need to dig around in my files to send to you.

Kevin has some great resources -- I use Altos on my blog (but I have to fiddle a little to get the graphs working); I'd just add to that data quick, http://www.dataquick.com/ -- a firm in San Diego that offers some excellent free data (and more powerful data for dollars), and I've been checking out the heat maps here on trulia and they are awesome for neighborhood stats! For rental information Pat Kitano just turned me on to rentomatic.com which is in beta and it's much better than rentslicer.com. The Chronicle publishes weekly sales data by county.

Obviously, realtors, like myself have access to MLS data for previous sales for SF neighborhoods. I'm a data junkie, so I like to look through various information on sales, days on market, etc. when researching for clients or myself. I'm also a big fan of socketsite.com which has some great data and trends. The Tax Collector and Treasurer's office on sfgov.org may also provide some information. I like AlstosResearch as well.
