I moved from Chicago to Denver in 2006, and I always look forward to welcoming fellow Midwesterners to Colorado.
As you have probably gathered by now from the other answers, calculating price per square foot is not as simple as it sounds and the answers can very quite a bit. I also looks like you are interested in other types of properties than bungalows, and other areas besides Wash Park.
So I'd like to ask you a few questions that could help me help you to find the right home. For example, how many homes have you owned in your lifetime? If you own your current home, what was the process you used to find it? How long did that take?

Once you've had a chance to digest some of the information I would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you my process for find the right home and, at the same time, make sure you don't miss anything or pay too much.
For now, just for fun, to give me an idea of where you are in the process, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with a 1 being you are just starting the process and 10 being you would like to find a home today) where would you rate yourself?

PPSF is better suited for new construction, and NOT older homes in an area like wash park.
What you really want is to have your REALTOR do a market analysis for you.
here's an interesting article on why you shouldn't use PPSF as a way go determine value:
East Wash Park - average sold price $616,000, average psf $348
West Wash Park - average sold price $485,000, average psf $313

Cherry Creek Properties
However, I noticed that the property you have in the question is located in Cherry Creek. These are very nice condos. My office is located just blocks away from 150 S. Madison and I do a ton of sales in the Cherry Creek neighborhood along with surrounding areas like Washington Park.
