If you see snakes it is usually in droughts. That is when they leave their natural habitat and look for water. Here is the address and phone number of the Texas Herpetological Society in San Antonio. They will be able to answer all your questions about snakes, where and where not you can find them.

Snakes are not normally a problem unless there is new construction is going on. Normally they avoid populated areas. Since the weather has warned up they are out
