While Southaven has seen a marginal drop in price of existing homes, and new home builders seem to be willing to provide some 'builder bonus' dollars with each sale, our area continues to be stronger than many individual markets across the U.S.
As the Lewis Team indicated, all real estate is local! North MS has great schools, low (homestead) taxes, and job opportunities to keep housing demand strong! Home sales have increased during the last month, and we expect that to continue throughout this spring/summer season. Mon Apr 28 2008, 14:14

We have seen a dip in overall prices but it has not been the dramatic drop that you see on the news. The national media lumps the entire country in together. When actually, real estate is a "local market" only. Every market has its own unique conditions. And is Desoto county, we have one of the best affordablility indexes in the country. Add in a stable job market, great school system and the Desoto county will continue to grow. So, with continued growth, there is no way that we will see a continued dip in prices.
