Hi Jane. For schools, I would choose Greenwood's Center Grove area. For shopping, I would still prefer Greenwood, with Plainfield coming in second. As to environments - Greenwood has a laid back vibe
with a small village like downtown and fabulous newer homes in the Center Grove area. Getting to
the airport is quick and easy and getting to downtown Indy, where the action is, is easy. You've got
interstate access to 65 from the east side which will get you to 465 and 37 on the west side into
465. For info on each area, I suggest you check out their websites: www.avongov.org/ www.plainfield-in.com www.greenwood.in.gov. Also take a look at www.indygov.org/Services/environment.htm.
I've lived on the west side and I've lived on the southside. I like both. However, traffic on 36 is a bear.
Check out homes from my portal at www.thinkrealtygroup.com/maritatopmiller and email me for more specific information. I'd be happy to help you. Thanks, Marita 317-513-4652... more
Wow! I cannot believe this question was overlooked by us because it is an easy one to answer.
YES, it is a great place for seniors. There are neighborhoods and communities that are focused on senior living, golf course communities, senior activities and most importantly a diverse group of people outside of the senior community. Perhaps you may or may not have heard of Fearrington Village, Meadowmont or Carolina Meadows, just to name a few. If you are not inclined to live in a neighborhood focused on retirees, you will have many other wonderful options.
If you are still considering making the move I would be happy to send you a relocation package with the information you are looking for.
My apologies that you were overlooked for so long.... more
