OMG...did you send the money? Did you complete an applicaiton form with personal information about yourself? Is the purported owner from overseas?
Did you go by the property first to see if it's listed for sale? And if it is, did you call the realtor to confirm it's his/her listing?
There are so many scammers who lift information from various realty sites and then post them for rent. Some are so sophisticated that they even have official-looking application forms. The way the almost-victims find out they're being scammed is when they physically drive by the property to scope it out. If you haven't done this yet, do it!
This has been going on for years -- and scammers are found on yahoo, google, craigslist, etc sites. Whenever we suspect a scam, we report the scammer.

We owe you a quarter.
I learned long ago, to not ascribe to duplicitiousness what can easily be explained by stupidity.
Trulia cannot be held responsible for everything that everyone posts;
I know they try to keep it clean, but there is just too much to monitor.
Many of the Listings are taken directly from local MLS listings, and they are rife with errors.
Trulia is intended as a starting point, a help.

Trulia is a great application. Here is something that may help. Under your settings select "notifications" and then choose the tab for the property type you are following. You can set the notification frequency to Daily or Weekly - if you change it to weekly that should reduce the number of emails that you receive.
If that does not work for you please contact me and I can set up an account for you on a service called Listingbook. This property search site accesses the same data base that I do (as a realtor) and you can customize searches and follow properties just like on Trulia. A big difference is that if you choose, you can receive one daily update that does consolidate the information on all the properties you are watching and notices of new listings.
Please let me know if you are interested in the Listingbook account and I would be happy to set one up for you.

Not sure what Facebook has to do with writing a recommendation. A client can write a recommendation any way they want. They could send you an email, a letter, whatever. I'm sure there's also a way to ask for recommendations on sites like Trulia, Zillow, Realtor.com, etc. (but they have to register).... more
Whether you are referring to your local MLS, or to Trulia, you need to consult your Realtor. They had to List it initially, and they have to make changes or delete it.
I cannot imagine why you would want to delete pictures; the more pictures, the better.... more
This has been happening a lot.. many are posting scams by copying lsitings and trying to get funds from them before you and or the landlord find out! Many are doing this on Craigslist and other sites.
There are many scams like this where they will tell the potential tenant that they have the house listed with a Realtor, but will rent it to them themselves for less rather than pay the commission.. then they have the potential "tenant" send them bank funds and they are gone..... more
