My sister lives in Dublin and uses Bart. We just visited in June, Dublin IS lovely and she stayed there so her kids could finish school. Hope that helps...a totally objective viewpoint, sorry I don't know about the traffic.... more
There is no set date to bring BART to Livermore. Over the years this has created much controversy, some residents oppose the extension, other residents in support. One opposing view point is the higher potential for crime and a huge cost the City would have to pay. Other residents see it as an important link to reduce congestion and create an eco-friendly means of transportation. In my understanding BART is not 100% behind the project, causing part of the delay. Recent articles quote that it would cost 1 billion to bring the tracks another 10 miles; although this number is being contested.
I would watch the site below for the most current news regarding the project. But don't hold your breath that it will happen any time soon. Look how long the Highway 84 project has taken. Next on the agenda is the new Portola on/off ramp. The California Transportation Commission has approved 173 million for the HOV on I-580 through the Tri-Valley in each direction. I am guessing this project will take presidency over the yet-to-be-seen BART proposal.... more
